Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument
Pre-Columbian Indians dug from quarries here. Alibates flint is a beautiful multi-colored stone with the ability to hold a sharp edge, to make points, knives, and other tools. Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument is located near Amarillo Texas and is the only National Monument in Texas.

Amistad National Recreation Area
